TIP Award

The TIP Awards program is designed to recognize Tremendous Individual Performance for non-administrative staff members of Northeast Mississippi Community College.

Nomination Process

  • Any employee of Northeast Mississippi Community College may submit nominations.
  • Explain in 200 words or less how this individual shows “TIP” qualities. These qualities include service, dedication, professionalism, and compassion in dealing with internal and external publics (students, administration, faculty, staff, and community). Inspires an overall sense of belonging that leads to a welcoming campus environment.
  • Please include the nominee’s name, division/department, immediate supervisor, and name of the person submitting the nomination.

  • Deadline: October 1st

Selection Process

  • An outside committee comprised of NON-Northeast personnel will be utilized to read each entry. This committee will determine two winners who exhibit the qualities of “Tremendous Individual Performance”.

The winners will be given a $100 grant, reserved parking place for one year, and included in the Foundation’s annual report and various other publications.

TOP Award

The innovative teaching methods of faculty members at Northeast Mississippi Community College are commendable and we at the Foundation are excited to recognize excellence with the TOP Award.

This honor will be awarded to one full-time faculty member from each of the six academic divisions. The TOP Award winners will receive a plaque which will be presented by the President, name and picture released in the local newspapers, published on the Foundation website and in the Foundation Annual Report; and many additional events throughout the year. Additionally, the recipients will receive a grant in the amount of $100. These grant funds can be used at your discretion for your classroom, office, or professional development needs.

Award Criteria

  • Write a one-page description of your innovative teaching method.
  • Please obtain a letter of support from your division head and include it with your application packet.
  • Award applications must be submitted to the Foundation Office by October 1st of each year. (Please ensure that your name and division are included in the application.) Submit the completed application via email to Tiffany Johnson, Foundation Financial Officer.

(Note: Award winners must skip one year before re-applying)
