Board of Trustees

Northeast Mississippi Community is governed locally by a Board of Trustees composed of fifteen members. This includes six members from Prentiss County, and two members each from Alcorn, Tippah, Tishomingo, and Union counties. Additionally, there is one member elected at large by the Board itself, with this position rotating among the four counties.

Each county's representative is typically the County Superintendent of Education, unless they opt not to serve. All other Board members, except the Superintendents and the member-at-large, are appointed for five-year terms by their respective county's board of supervisors. These terms are staggered to ensure that no more than one member from each county retires in any given year.
