Multi-factor Authentication

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring more than just your username and password when logging in.

What is MFA?

MFA verifies your identity using two types of information:

  • Something you know (your password)
  • Something you have (your phone or authentication app)

How It Works

When you log in using your NETid and password:

  1. Enter your username and password
  2. Receive a prompt on your device
  3. Approve the notification or enter a code

Once verified, you’ll be logged in.

We recommend using an authenticator app with push notifications for the easiest experience.

Important Security Tip

Never approve a login request you did not initiate.

If you receive a notification unexpectedly:

  • Your account may be compromised
  • Reset your password immediately

Troubleshooting

Not receiving a code or notification?

  • Check your internet connection
  • Make sure notifications are enabled on your device

Got a new phone?

  • Re-enroll your device in MFA

Why MFA is Required

Passwords alone are no longer enough to protect your account. MFA helps keep your personal information and college systems secure by adding an extra layer of protection.
