July 2026 Honoree
We are proud to recognize Tracey Barron, Instructor in the Practical Nursing Program, as this month’s Northeast Way Award recipient. This award honors employees who go above and beyond to make a lasting impact through service, leadership, and genuine care for others. For one former student, Mrs. Barron’s influence extended far beyond the classroom. “She was everyone’s favorite teacher. She made every lesson her own and was able to get the message across to all of us in an entertaining and informational way.” Her ability to make complex concepts understandable and enjoyable created an environment where students felt confident to learn and grow. But her greatest lesson wasn’t just about nursing. “She taught me how to be not only a nurse, but a GOOD nurse.” That lesson has had a lasting impact. Today, that former student is a registered nurse who teaches nephrology nursing for a global company. Reflecting on their journey, they shared, “I absolutely believe that I would not have gotten this far in my career without her wisdom, positive attitude, and support!” Mrs. Barron’s dedication continued beyond the classroom. “She went above and beyond in the classroom and in the clinical setting. She made sure we all knew what we were doing and why we were doing the tasks that were assigned to us. She made clinical so much fun.” Her passion for teaching continues to shape the next generation of nurses long after graduation. As her nominator put it, “I have never had a teacher that was able to explain difficult concepts while also making school so much fun for everyone… She deserves an award for the work she does and the lives she changes.”
