Scholarship Opportunities

Finding money for college starts here

Northeast Mississippi Community College offers a variety of scholarships to help make your education more affordable. Scholarships may be awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, involvement, financial need, and more.

At Northeast, scholarships are divided into two main categories. Most students are eligible for both—so we encourage you to explore each option below and apply for every opportunity available.

Choose Your Scholarship Path

Most students are eligible for BOTH types of scholarships—and each requires a separate application. Be sure to explore and apply for each option below to maximize your opportunities.

 Institutional Scholarships

Institutional scholarships are awarded directly by Northeast and are typically based on academic performance, ACT scores, leadership, and student involvement. These scholarships are often available to incoming freshmen and may be renewable with continued academic success.

Applications should be submitted early for priority consideration (April 1 deadline).

 Foundation Scholarships

Foundation scholarships are funded by generous donors, alumni, and community partners. By completing one application, students may be matched with multiple scholarship opportunities based on their background, program of study, and financial need.

Applications are submitted online through the scholarship portal and are available to both new and current students (deadline March 15).

Maximize Your Opportunities

Students are strongly encouraged to apply for both Institutional and Foundation scholarships. Each program has a separate application, different eligibility requirements, and different funding sources—applying to both can significantly increase your chances of receiving financial assistance.

What to Expect

  • Some scholarships require additional materials such as essays or recommendations
  • Awards may be based on GPA, ACT scores, leadership, or specific talents
  • Many scholarships are renewable if eligibility requirements are maintained
