Emergency Medical Responders Course
Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) provide immediate lifesaving care to critical patients who access the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system. EMRs have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide immediate lifesaving interventions while awaiting additional EMS resources to arrive. EMRs also provide assistance to higher-level personnel at the scene of emergencies and during transport. EMRs are a vital part of the comprehensive EMS response. Under medical oversight, EMRs perform basic interventions with minimal equipment.
Emergency Medical Responder Course Registration
Emergency Medical Technician - Basic
January 14, 2027
Prerequisites:
- CPR (BLS) – American Heart Association Healthcare Provider
- Physical examination by physician or NP
- Drug Test (In-house)
- TB skin test or Chest X-ray prior to start of class
- Hepatitis B vaccine (3shot series) or Titer test if shot series completed numerous years ago
- MMR Vaccine (2 dose vaccine)
- Influenza Vaccination
- Proof of Age – 18 years old (Drivers License Required)
- High School Diploma or GED
- CRC (Career Readiness Certificate), ACT 17, or TABE (10th Grade ) Reading
Radiology for Dental Assistants
The Radiology Workshop is a certificate program for dental assistants. This workshop trains and certifies individuals to take radiographs in a dental office. The Mississippi State Board of Dental Examiners regulates this program.
Workshops are limited to 8 participants per workshop. Enrollment will be accepted on a first-come, first-pay basis only.
