Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement

Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement

The Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement committee seeks to develop students into engaged and active members of their communities by encouraging democratic participation, bipartisan dialogue, and social responsibility across the entire campus.

The committee provides voter registration opportunities, circulates election information, and contributes to the National Day of Service recognition of local emergency response personnel. The committee also hosts educational events with political and civic leaders, encouraging students to get to know those who serve and represent them.

NEMCC commemorates Constitution Day, participates in various national campus initiatives, and has been designated as a “Voter Friendly Campus” by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. The goal of the Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement committee is to prepare students for lifelong democratic participation.
