TigerAlert Emergency Notification System

Emergency AlertsTigerAlert is a comprehensive alert notification system used to broadcast important information such as campus emergencies, closures, delays, cancellations and more via email, text or voice messaging.

The cellular number you use to register for TigerAlert text messaging will not be published in a directory or used for any other purpose. It will be used for alerts and for periodic testing of the TigerAlert system.

Please Note: If you have a telephone number listed that is out-of-date or incorrect, contact the Enrollment Services Office (students) or the Human Resources Office (Employees) to have the number corrected in Banner. Deleting it within the TigerAlert system will not correct it.

Manage Your Account

  1. Login using your official Northeast email address and the email password.
  2. Under the Email/Phone tab, update your phone number(s) and/or any additional email addresses.
  3. Indicate the type of number this is (Home, Work, Cell, Other).
  4. TigerAlert Messages are only delivered to email addresses and numbers listed as Cell or Other.
  5. Select the corresponding method(s) that you would like to receive the alerts (Text and/or Voice).
  6. Review your information and click “Save.”

Weather Alerts

If you would also like to receive weather alerts, you will need to scroll down the page and complete the Address Preferences and Weather Alert Preferences sections.

Address Preferences

  1. Enter the Street Address, City, State, and Zip Code where you would like to receive notices about.
  2. Review your information and click “Save.”

Weather Alert Preferences

  1. Click the checkbox labeled “Enable Weather Alerts” if you would like to receive alerts based on the Address Preference you set previously.
  2. Click the drop-down labeled “Weather Events” and place a check beside any event(s) you would like to be alerted for.
  3. Review your information and click “Save.”

Important Notice about Text/SMS notifications

Under FCC regulations you are allowed to unsubscribe from Text/SMS notifications. You may do so using the short code 30890 for Day to Day messages. Simply reply to any message with the word STOP and you will stop receiving messages from that short code. If would like to resume receiving messages reply once again to that short code with the word RESUME. Please be aware, that this will stop ALL messages. By opting out, you risk missing important notifications and alerts from the college.
