NEMCC's 6th Man Club Open for Enrollment with Basketball Season Approaching

October 2, 2017

The Northeast Mississippi Community College basketball teams are making plans to bring back one of the top booster programs in the Magnolia State with their respective seasons just over a month away.

The Lady Tigers and Tigers are once again sponsoring the 6th Man Club, whose mission is to unite their fan base during what should be another sensation campaign on the court.

Three different packages are available for individuals and local organizations to enroll in. Each giving level costs various amounts and also comes with additional benefits for contributors.

A “Three-Point Play” is only $120 and includes one reserved general admission pass to all home games, a personalized seat cover and an official Northeast basketball t-shirt as well.

Becoming a member of “The Starting Five” costs $500 and features two reserved seats with individualized covers, two 6th Man Club tumbler cups, a reserved parking pass and a Northeast basketball t-shirt.

Those in “The Starting Five” will also receive invitations to attend a preseason practice with the Tigers, admission to the Earline “Woodsie” Woods Hospitality Suite and two tickets to the 6th Man Club banquet on Tuesday, October 24.

A “Slam Dunk” is available for a price of $1,000. It consists of all the aforementioned items in “The Starting Five” plus ten general admission passes and a game sponsorship bundle.

Please make checks payable to the Northeast Development Foundation and send by mail to Northeast Basketball, Attn: Cord Wright, 101 Cunningham Blvd., Booneville, Miss., 38829.

Northeast looks to build off a stellar 2016-17 campaign that saw the Tigers win their 16th Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) North Division championship in program history.

The Lady Tigers were almost equally as successful one season ago after finishing as the MACJC North Division runner-up and reaching the semifinals of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Tournament.

Both teams have an established reputation of winning at an elite level. The Tigers have made nine appearances at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kan., and finished as runner-up three times.

Northeast’s women have captured a national championship, three regional crowns, 10 MACJC state titles and boast 10 NJCAA All-Americans during their illustrious history.

The teams have lined up 13 total home dates beginning on Monday, November 6 when the Lady Tigers welcome Shelton State (Ala.) Community College while the Tigers battle Faith Prepatory Academy of West Memphis, Ark.

A complete basketball schedule for both the Lady Tigers and Tigers will be released in the coming weeks.
