A native of Baldwyn, MS, Goodson graduated from Baldwyn High School, attended NEMCC, and received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Mississippi State. After teaching high school and junior high English for six years, she joined the faculty at Northeast in 1999. She is married to Cole Goodson, also a Baldwyn native, and they have 2 daughters: Claire and Hallie.
