Upon graduation from Red Bay High School, Blansett earned an associate’s degree from Northeast before completing her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Mississippi State University. She taught middle school theatre for the Tupelo Public School District for five years and high school English at Mantachie High School for one year prior to joining Northeast as a full-time instructor in 2007. Blansett serves as the advisor for communications majors and sponsors the Northeast Scholars’ Bowl Team. She and her husband, Dickey, have two children.
