Housing FAQs

Basic furniture, bed, chest, closet, desk, are provided in each room, sink in rooms that are suites. Vending machines and laundry rooms are available to students in each residence hall. Washing machines require quarters. Students are responsible for his/her own linens, pillows, and personal items.
Beds are all regular twin size, unless a request is made for an extra long mattress, or if one is left in the room from the previous occupant. If you do not want it, ask your dorm supervisor to have it changed. Mississippi Hall beds all include long mattresses. Room specifications and details are provided under Residence Halls.
All dorms have wireless internet access.
Yes. Each room has either blinds or curtains. If a student wants something different, he/she must replace original window treatment before checking out.
Yes. If you have an Emerson, Element, or Sceptre brand TV you will need to contact the local cable company (Maxxsouth Broadband) to pick up a Digital Quam Tuner. Northeast Mississippi Community College is not responsible for this device.
Yes. You must register the car with Campus Security and place a parking decal on your car. Dorm students must park in their assigned dorm parking lot only. See parking rules or college handbook.
All dorm students are required to purchase a meal plan. Meals are charged to each dorm student. Meals begin on Sunday night and end on Thursday for students who have the 13 meal plan per week. A 19 meal plan is available to students who want to have meals on weekends.
No, if a student wants refrigerator or microwave they may bring their own. Refrigerators should be no larger than 4.0 cubic ft., microwave should a small model so as not to overload the circuit breakers.
Your mail will be placed in your dorm mailbox each day by your dorm supervisor. Your address is your name, dorm name, room number, 101 Cunningham Boulevard, Booneville, MS 38829.
No, dorm occupants are required to enroll in 12 hours of classes. If student falls below 12 hours during the year they will be required to meet with dorm director and leave the dorm until 12 hours are maintained.
No pets of any kind are allowed in dorms.
Smoking is not allowed in dorms or anywhere at NEMCC. NEMCC is a smoke-free campus.
Room charges are pro-rated by the week. Meals are pro-rated by the day. After 10 weeks of classes there are no dorm refunds.
