Dr. Deborah Kehoe, an English instructor at Northeast, speaks to approximately 50 people at the Good Shepherd’s “Vegan Day at NEMCC.” Kehoe is speaking about not using animals as food and also not using animals as entertainment or wearing clothing made from animals or animal byproducts. Kehoe make a point to explain that veganism is not just a fad diet but it is a lifestyle. Kehoe has been a practicing vegan for 14 years. In addition to Kehoe speaking on veganism, the Good Shepherds also invited Father Josh Shipman, an NEMCC alumnus, to prepare vegan foods so those who are no part of the lifestyle can experience the vegan diet.
