Cascade Server is a content management system used to create and manage digital content on the Northeast Mississippi Community College website. It is essential to understand the basic functionality of Cascade Server to edit the content of a website.
Overview
Websites comprise many types of content, such as banners, buttons, message areas, etc. These different components are known as content types. As a content editor, you can create and edit many content types for your pages.
Cascade Server provides a variety of content types. We use two types of pages, landing pages and interior pages. While many content types are available on both site templates, they may appear differently depending on the type of page you are working with. We highly suggest you fill out all content type field information - some will publish despite being left empty! Below are the lists of available content types for each site template.
Landing Page vs Interior Page
Each website typically consists of one Landing Page and many Interior Pages. The Landing Page is the site's homepage, so there is usually only one Landing Page for a single website. The Interior Pages make up the rest of the site. The page that you are looking at is an Interior Page. Several Content Types are available on both the Landing and Interior templates. If you are working on an Interior Page and would like it to look more like a Landing page, you can hide the left navigation area or the entire sidebar by toggling the appropriate settings while editing your page.
